DANIEL LAPIRA
FILM & TELEVISION EDITOR

Daniel Lapira, BFE, is a London based film and television editor who enjoys crafting stories with their own distinct language and form, while collaborating closely with the filmmaking team. His work is versatile, spanning documentaries, features, shorts, and TV drama across a range of genres and styles.

He began his career as an assistant editor in the cutting rooms of various studio and independent film productions shot on his home island of Malta, including Steven Spielberg’s Munich and Kevin Reynolds’s Risen. He went on to edit the multi award winning feature Simshar, Malta’s first ever submission for Best Foreign Language Film at the Academy Awards.

More recent work includes A Thousand Blows (official selection, 68th BFI London Film Festival) and The Princess (official selection, Sundance Film Festival). Grateful to the generous and talented editors and directors he has collaborated with over the years, whose influence helped shape the editor he is today, Daniel looks forward to the exciting stories the future has in store.
